Abstract:
The desk-based assessment established that a farm was certainly in existence at Calcot by the 16th century. However, there was no evidence that any buildings of the post-medieval farm extended into the study area. There was evidence that the site of the proposed development had been subject to quarrying, although the extent of the quarry was still to be determined. Archaeological features may, therefore, have been affected by the quarrying. [Au(abr)]
