Abstract: |
An east-west aligned inhumation was revealed during the underpinning of the cottage, which was adjacent to a church. The inhumation was positioned within 21 metres of the tower and 8 metres from the present churchyard boundary. The body was interred in a manner entirely consistent with the Christian rite; it was likely to represent a burial, which predated the definition of the present yard bounds; although it was possible that it was someone excluded from the burial ground.
