The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Work carried out during the installation of a new sewage system involved observation and recording of pipe trenches within the limits of the medieval village of Flecknow. Excavation ahead of the pipe trench, in the Scheduled Area behind Vicarage Road, revealed an area of limestone surface possibly associated with a building. It also uncovered a section of wall associated with a probable late medieval or early post-medieval building. Two boundary ditches associated with existing earthworks appeared to be at least 16th century in date whilst two other ditches and a number of layers were 18th or 19th century. A rubble foundation and a stone-lined well with an associated paved area were most likely 18th century in date. Observation of pipe trenches along main roads and spur trenches to domestic properties revealed no further evidence of the medieval settlement. [Au]
