Abstract: |
Monitoring work was undertaken on topsoil stripping on the route of the bypass. This followed the results of previous evaluation and excavation work. Part of this monitoring included soil stripping associated with the soil disposal site at Gardenhouse Lane. The monitoring results were limited to a few stray finds, isolated features and field ditches, the dating of which was difficult due to the lack of finds. The examination of the Enclosure and Tithe Maps did, however, identify the features which related to field boundaries and a pond which had been lost since the early 19th century. [Au(abr)] |
