Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the site of proposed residential development of the former railway goods yard, adjacent to Southbury Station. Five trenches were opened (each 20m by 3m), two of which encountered archaeological remains of prehistoric settlement, in the form of a series of post holes and the end of a possible enclosure ditch. A Roman ditch, which probably represented part of a larger field system, was also found. [Au] |
