Abstract:
<summary>A watching brief undertaken during the excavation of trenches revealed a sequence of deposits suggestive of a possible floor and wall foundations of a building alongside and below the precinct wall. 17th century pottery was recovered from a loam layer which pre-dated the present wall but post-dated the possible floor layer. Also recovered was a large piece of moulded Cotswold limestone, which may once have belonged to the wall of the Abbey Cloister. {italon}AIP{italoff}
