Abstract: |
Documentary research and trial excavation ahead of the proposed redevelopment of the plot identified two phases of chapel/meeting house above a large post-medieval limestone quarry pit. The finds reflected the cessation of normal refuse deposition from early in the 18th century reflecting the change in use to a place of worship. No indications of an anticipated burial ground were recovered. [Au] |
