Abstract:
The site and location of secondary structures, the west gate, dovehouse and cottages were not determined by the documentary research. All of these buildings may have been very minor and insubstantial. There were no standing buildings or structures from the earliest phases of the development of the priory. The present structures may have been built over these earlier buildings. The precinct area would have probably been defined by a ditch, bank or wall and the priory site was likely to include a number of pre-reformation burials. [Au (abr)]
