Abstract: |
14 trenches were excavated. A former Late Pleistocene sandstone cliff was identified, along with the earlier edge of the Avon. Only post-medieval and modern activity was further identified on the site but these represented a site of dockside facilities and related infrastructure directly associated with the important Bristol shipbuilding industry in the 18th and 19th century. These included workshops, deal/timber yards, a ropewalk and dwellings. [Au(adp)] |
