Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken in advance of a proposed residential development. The early history and archaeology of the area was poorly evidenced. There was no direct evidence for prehistoric, Romano-British period or medieval activity within the site and the study area. The site appeared to have remained vacant until the rise of the Maling pottery industry. This complex consisted of a pottery factory, associated warehouses and tunnel linking buildings. Further archaeological evaluation was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
