Abstract: |
Archaeological observation at Snitterfield Primary School, within the medieval village of Snitterfield, revealed no evidence of medieval occupation. A later of greyish brown loam was recorded which probably represented the agricultural land that covered the area before the construction of the school. Surviving traces of ridge and furrow was recorded in the school playing fields to the north of the site. During the work two area of earthworks, probably associated with area of deserted medieval settlement, were observed within the village. [Au] |
