Abstract: |
Archaeological recording was undertaken following the discovery of a stone lined drain during deturfing of a lawn area for the construction of a patio. The feature comprised a dry stone culvert with a base and roof formed of fine grained oolitic limestone and with wider blocks forming the sides. Large slates had been laid over the capping stones. The culvert seemed to post-date the construction of "The Lindens", which was built in the 17th century. [AIP] |
