Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of an area 3.5m by 2.5m by mechanical excavator. During the groundworks carried out by the contractors and subsequent demolition work, an area of the caves known to underlie this site were exposed. Brick pillar supports were apparent in the mouth of the cave, and it was possible that the cave had been accessible from the former buildings. No finds of archaeological interest were made from the site, and neither were any features of archaeological significance identified. [Au(adp)] |
