Abstract: |
Archaeological observation of ground disturbance associated with the partial redevelopment of a police and fire station revealed no trace of medieval remains, although the site lay at the centre of a medieval town. The earliest surviving feature was an 18th/19th century yard surface. Loose finds included a single 14th-15th century sherd, and 17th-19th century pottery and clay pipe. [Au] |
