Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the construction of a hotel. No archaeological features of any antiquity were present. However, the restricted nature of the trial trenching meant that an adequate sampling of the area was not achieved. In view of the remaining archaeological potential of the untested areas of the site, it was recommended that an archaeological watching brief be undertaken on the groundworks associated with the redevelopment of the site.
