Abstract: |
Fieldwalking of part of the areas proposed for a golf course adjacent to Tuckingmill Quarry and Wick Farm identified a concentration of pottery and worked flint which possibly represented an extension of previously known Iron Age and Romano-British activity. Fieldwalking in the area adjacent to the earthworks, recorded as being those of the settlement of Wyck, failed to produce evidence of activity contemporaneous with their suggested 13th century date.
