Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	An archaeological evaluation, including both desktop survey and the mechanical excavation of two trial trenches, was carried out on the site of the proposed Regional Gymnastics Centre, Gainsborough, Ipswich. The desktop survey indicated that the study area had been open agricultural land in the more recent past and the trial trench excavation supported this view as no archaeological finds indicative of intense past activity were found. The only feature located was a ditch of uncertain date and probable agricultural origin. [Au]
