Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in response to a condition upon the residential redevelopment of the site. Archaeological and documentary sources indicated a generally moderate potential for prehistoric archaeology in this area. The site fell within an Archaeological Priority Area as defined by the London Borough of Newham. The sources consulted indicated that there was no direct evidence to suggest a high potential for archaeological remains on the study site. There were no SAMs or known archaeological sites on or near the study site. Geo-technical information from the site suggested that it lay on flat floodplain, occasionally subject to inundation. There was no evidence for an eyot. [Au(abr)] |
