Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a three-storey office development. Three trial trenches were excavated. Trenches 1 and 3 were clearly archaeologically negative. Medieval and late medieval sherds recovered in trench 1 were most likely to have been residual and were to be expected on the outskirts of a settlement such as Reigate. Trench 2, however, indicated that there was some archaeological potential in the northwest corner of the site. Two possible post-medieval demolition layers, a post-medieval post hole and pit, an undated pit and an undated gully were recorded. [Au(adp)] |
