Abstract: |
Archaeological observation during the excavation of geological test pits and subsequent topsoil stripping as part of a flood alleviation scheme, found no archaeological features associated with the medieval settlement of Leek Wootton. A prehistoric worked flint and a sherd of medieval pottery together with a number of other finds dating from the 17th-20th centuries were recovered and the line of the former (20th century) drain was recorded.
