Abstract: |
Two small test holes were excavated to ascertain the presence of any archaeological features, before contractors works to construct a kitchen area and WC in the area of the tower base. An area of 'heat affected' sand was observed, but little information about it could be gleaned. West of the tower's west entrance a test hole revealed dirty loamy sand considered to be the upper fill of graves. [AIP] |
