Abstract: |
Evaluation comprising trial-trenches and test-pits revealed an area of charcoal fragements overlying a stake-hole, and recovered one Romano-British pottery sherd. Palaeoenvironmental study revealed no evidence of past human activity within the study area. Analysis of peat suggested that the natural deposits represented a raised bog possibly dating from the third millenium BC. [Auth abridged] |
