Abstract: |
<summary>May 1990: Large clay-lined pit (BCC 014.001) truncated by footing trench excavation. Measured 4m across by over 2m in depth. The fill was highly organic, of peaty consistency, and damp to the touch. The survival of organic matter in this deposit was particularly good, with a quantity of cut and/or stitched leather being retrieved. The pit was aceramic and, besides the organic matter, contained little in the way of rubbish. Elsewhere on the site, deposits appeared to be {italon}circa{italoff} 1.15m deep in total. {italon}Sec(15){italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} BCC014 |
