Abstract: |
After a desk-top assessment, fieldwalking and trial trenching were undertaken to evaluate the site. The fieldwalking results indicated that there was prehistoric activity in the development area, probably with associated settlement. The trial trenching indicated that much of the site had been damaged, particularly by service trenches, and in the course of construction of the most recent buildings. Despite this, evidence for several phases of earlier buildings on the site were identified, although these were confined to a relatively small area. As a result of these findings, new recommendations were proposed for further archaeological work on the site. [Au(abr)] |
