Abstract: |
Evaluation trenching and test-pitting on land adjacent to the River Avon to the north of Amesbury revealed a complex sequence of post-glacial deposits of both alluvial and colluvial origin. The upper part of the soil sequence included evidence of prehistoric activity in the form of a scatter of worked flint, interpreted as an area of Neolithic domestic activity. [Au(abr)] |
