Abstract: |
Archaeological evaluation trenching was conducted in advance of a proposed building conversion to residential use. The trenches revealed the existence of structural remains below the ground surface. In the north part of the trench was a structure forming a V-shape within the bounds of the trench, formed by linear arrangements of stone up to two courses high. In the lower part of the trench was a partially revealed ditch-like feature. None of the structural remains were associated with finds of any kind and neither their date nor precise function were determined. A further archaeological watching brief was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
