Abstract: |
A systematic transect sample of detailed geophysical survey was carried out on land at Wombwell Wood in connection with opencast coal extraction. Four fields were surveyed, A - D, totalling 7ha covering 50% of the application area. Two enclosures were detected in a form suggesting a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date. All other anomalies detected were suggestive of medieval or later activity. [Au(abr)] |
