Abstract: |
<summary>An assessment of the impact upon visible historic landscape features of a proposed large-scale commercial development supplemented a conventional desk-based assessment. It was established that the development area was taken into the Easton Neston park between 1827 and 1843, when the park reached its maximum extent. It was shown that the proposed development would not obscure views from the park to Towcester church and Bury Mount, which had been integrated into the 19th century landscape design, but would supplant them as the principal visual focus. Regrading to provide flood relief along the north bank of the River Tove would also result in the loss of an area of medieval ridge and furrow. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
