Abstract: |
Observation over groundworks was carried out at Telephone House. The oldest deposit revealed was probably medieval or earlier, and was redeposited brickearth. Three layers, a post hole and a limestone wall may have been medieval. The wall could have been part of the east wall of the northern undercroft of a medieval house at 79 1/2 High Street. Most of the exposed deposits were 19th/20th century layers, including surfaces of concrete and tarmac. [Au(adp)] |
