Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological monitoring was undertaken in advance of the construction of residential dwellings. Superficial ground reduction and augured piling for the development were subject to archaeological monitoring and recording. Ground reduction was undertaken within recent overburden only. Monitoring of the raisings of the deeper piles allowed a broad stratigraphy to be revealed below this level. No archaeological features or finds were identified. The natural alluvial deposits of this part of the Thames floodplain were revealed on the site, below a substantial recent overburden. [Au(abr)] |
