Abstract: |
The desktop assessment of the site (in advance of proposed residential development) confirmed the high archaeological potential of the former rugby ground as the known ring ditches may have survived as low mounds indicating well preserved deposits below ground. Over the rest of the proposed development area there was some potential for archaeological deposits on the southern and western edges but the central land parcel had been largely truncated by mineral workings.
