Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks. The site was near to a medieval enclosure and only 325m from a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle known locally as Knob Hill. No significant archaeological deposits were found within the site, apart from an area of a former coal store. It appeared that the area had remained in use a pasture land from the medieval period to the present day. [AIP] |
