Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at No. 12 Church Street, Wellesbourne, during the construction of foundation trenches for a kitchen extension. The development site lay adjacent to the supposed location of an Anglo-Saxon palace (Warwickshire SMR Ref No. WA 3633); important archaeological remains might therefore have been disturbed by the development. In the event, however, nothing of archaeological significance was revealed, apart from a modern brick-lined well.[AIP] |
