Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during the construction of a new flood relief channel at Northacre Business Park. The project followed the line of previously constructed channels. The route passed a number of archaeological sites including a Roman villa site and a medieval settlement. The brief allowed for the sketch plotting of the ridge and furrow system, while stray finds of Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery were recovered along the route. No Roman features or deposits appeared to have been disturbed by the scheme.[Au(abr)] |
