Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed some residual Saxon pottery suggesting that some occupation evidence mmay have been present nearby. Within the trenches were a number of late- and post-medieval burials, covered, and often disturbed by, later soil layers containing residual pottery and building debris. The only feature cutting into the natural subsoil, which did not appear to be a burial was a ditch located in trench 2. This was filled with late/post medieval finds, and its relationship to the church and its existence within an area of burials still needed to be explained. [Au(adp)] |
