Abstract: |
Survey and recording of the standing remains of 109 Forest Road, and a subsequent watching brief during groundworks, identified no evidence for occupation of the site prior to the construction of the original cottage, and showed that the house had three possible phases of construction. The earliest building probably consisted of a small cottage with a date stone above the entrance of 1782. A large room was added during the early 19th century, and further extension took place in the second half of the 19th century. [AIP] |
