Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken to assess the presence/absence of archaeological remains during the excavation of foundations for a conservatory, to be attached to the south side of Tweedbank Cottage Annexe. The development area lay within the site of a Scheduled area of Wark Castle motte and bailey castle and artillery fort. The watching brief confirmed the presence of a humic garden soil containing ceramics dating between the 19th-20th centuries. No further archaeological deposits or structures were disturbed or encountered during the excavation. [Au(abr)] |
