Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the area lay in close proximity to three Iron Age sites. Immediately to the south, the discovery of a pit and a ditch containing a human skeleton was responsible for the designation of an area, which included the easterly portion of the study area. A large ditch, pits and post holes were also found around the site. Although undated these remains may have been related to prehistoric agricultural settlement. Medieval and Anglo-Saxon activity had also been found close to the site; therefore it was possible that archaeological evidence of these dates could have been located within the study area.
