Abstract: |
The assessment was undertaken in advance of the redevelopment of the site. Investigations revealed that the building of modern buildings on the site had seriously damaged any archaeological features, thus meaning the survival of features associated with Hadrian's Wall, the Vallum and evidence of medieval agricultural practices was highly unlikely. Note was made however of a couple of land boundaries that may have represented original medieval land divisions. [AIP] |
