Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out prior to development work. Documentary evidence suggests the site falls within the area of Jesus College, the medieval institution from which College Street gets its name. Three trenches were excavated but no trace of any buildings or occupation associated with Jesus College were located. The archaeological evidence suggests the 16th century as the earliest date for any intensive occupation. [Au(abr)] |
