Abstract: |
Archaeological work was undertaken in the grounds of the Gun Inn, Findon to investigate the archaeological potential of the land prior to the determination of a planning application to convert the inn and its stables into dwellings, and to construct cottages and apartments. The inn was thought to be the much altered remains of a mid-15th century two bay, open hall building. No significant archaeological features or deposits were encountered in the sample trenches. Evidence of recent landscaping was uncovered in the north-western part of the site. [AIP] |
