Cropmarks of field systems thought to be of late prehistoric or Romano-British date had been identified in fields immediately west and south-west of the application site. Worked flint artefacts were common on the light soils in the vicinity. There was potential for archaeological remains to survive in the southern part of the application site. [Au]
