Abstract: |
The assessment was undertaken as a condition upon planning permission for the erection of a new building. The site was situated on the west side of the town of Droitwich, and in an area historically associated with the production of salt from at least the medieval period. Preliminary results suggested that the site was within an archaeologically sensitive area, and that archaeological deposits were likely to have been present. These deposits may have been well stratified, and of considerable depth, as well as being potentially waterlogged. [Au(abr)] |
