Abstract: |
Six trenches provided negative evidence showing a general absence of archaeological features. Archaeological features, consisting of two pits and a possible linear slot were observed in trench 36. In all trenches except trench 37, plough marks aligned roughly east to west were observed. These appear to pre-date construction of the airfield and are most likely to represent late-nineteenth or early-twentieth century agricultural activity. [Au(abr)] |
