Abstract: |
Trial trenching was carried out within sites proposed for a number of buildings and an underground car park at the Royal Holloway College. No finds or features of archaeological interest were revealed, and it was recommended that no further work should be carried out in connection with the development of these sites, with the exception of the car park site, where it was considered that a watching brief might be appropriate. It was further recommended that watching briefs, rather than trial trenching, would be an appropriate way of dealing with the potential archaeological interest of the remaining proposal sites which had not been tested by the evaluation.
