| Abstract: |
An excavation was carried out within a proposed development site, in the immediate vicinity of an area where an earlier evaluation had recorded two scoops containing Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age pottery and flints. The excavation revealed a small pit containing pottery of the same date and a flint flake. A number of field drains and a brick culvert were also noted, whilst a small number of post-medieval tiles and a flint core were recovered. It was concluded that the limited number of features did not necessarily suggest the presence of a permanent or substantial settlement, but that further remains could very well lie in the vicinity.
