Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment on an open site between the Lodge and Mill House, Old Malden Lane, Worcester Park, found a small number of finds and sites spanning a wide date range were known within approximately 1km of the site, their density suggesting that prior to the medieval period there was low potential for any archaeological remains. From the medieval period, the site became part of a deer park known as Worcester Park until the early 17th century. From the mid 17th century features associated with nearby watermills were known to have affected the site and maps from the early 19th century showed buildings on the site, possibly associated with the nearby Gunpowder Mill.
