Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks and drainage for an extension to the rear of the existing building. Evidence of medieval activity on the site was present in the form of a cess pit. A large quantity of faced stone was retrieved from the site, among this were several large architectural stone fragments believed to have originated from the site of the medieval abbey to the north west.
