Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluation of the site that consisted of the excavation of a single 1.5m by 66.5m long trial trench, recovered significant evidence associated with the medieval and post-medieval periods. Identified archaeological features included pits, postholes, ditches and a substantial building slot. The latter, which from artefactual evidence (ceramic) appeared to have been in use until the 13th or possible 14th centuries, exhibited substantial corner posts at either end of a continuous c.7.5m long slot.
