Abstract: |
The site remained undeveloped until the construction of the Millwall Docks in the mid to late 19th century, when it became occupied by warehouses. The site underwent further major development when two large warehouses were constructed in the 1960's and again with the conversion of one of the warehouses into the London Arena in the 1980's. The construction of the warehouses would have had a major impact on the presence of any earlier human activity on the site, therefore it seemed unlikely that there would be any archaeological implications for any future proposed scheme.
